I set up this site before I'd bought the car, and had no immediate plans to buy one. But this car came up quite cheap because it was in need of a paintjob and some body repairs and... because it was located on the Isle Of Skye!
I flew up to Inverness where the previous owner (who had just picked up the yellow Dax Kamala in the first picture) picked me up, took me back to the Island, and I then spent the next two days driving home, largely without incident. By comparison to the other Cyclones on this site, mine's pretty rough around the edges and I'm almost a little embarrassed to load up pictures.
Both the nose and the back end were damaged by a previous owner, while the person I bought it from added the twin headlights, front winglets and rear wing. The latter has already been removed and, as you can see, I've already taken off the nose cone, which required the removal of the winglets - I don't think they'll be going back on the car. The car is mechanically standard, and runs a 2-litre Vauxhall twin-cam, complete with injection.
Jobs to do, apart from the obvious, include...
Refurbishing all the aluminium under the front bonnet (which I've begun).
A minor repair to the aluminium around the adjustable pedal box (now done).
Cleaning up (and repainting) the exposed chassis rails (and everything else) under the front bonnet.
Fitting smaller twin headlamps per side (now done).
Changing the rear lights, either back to Vauxhall units, or perhaps something else more in keeping with the Cyclone's square rear haunches.
And then returning the car to Auto Mirage for a full respray.
Retrim and upgrade the interior.
And anything else I've forgotten (such as a turbo upgrade).
Wish me luck!
